About ASPIRE’s Virtual Community
ASPIRE’s virtual Slack community is open to all self-identifying Asian American womxn and allies and serves as a space to meet others, share resources, ask for help, celebrate each other, and learn about upcoming ASPIRE and community events. Through our virtual community, we hope to foster a stronger sense of togetherness, belonging, and support for the Asian American womxn’s community.
About the Role
The ASPIRE in the Community Virtual Community Manager will manage asynchronous community engagement and programming on ASPIRE’s Slack community. They serve as a “host” of the virtual community, ensuring that members feel comfortable and have opportunities (programs/campaigns) to participate and engage with one another. Programming can come in many forms, including but not limited to facilitating community discussions, sharing resources and opportunities, welcoming and introducing members to each other in creative ways, and generally keeping the platform “alive and buzzing”. They will also coordinate with other ASPIRE in the Community team members to find opportunities where the Slack community can build on planned ASPIRE in the Community events and programs. This is a budding virtual community, and responsibilities of the Virtual Community Manager will include growing membership in Slack, and driving meaningful engagement. While this role does not require prior knowledge of Slack, active experience participating in digital communities (ie. Reddit, Discord, Circle, Facebook Groups, etc.) is ideal.
