Behind the Scenes with ASPIRE
Behind the Scenes with ASPIRE is a bimonthly panel-style event that provides the opportunity for the Asian community and the ASPIRE team to get to know each other. It serves as a safe space to navigate experiences, stories, and perspectives on a wide range of topics–all of which connect back to the Asian narrative.

August 18th, 2021: Sydney & Isabel
In this session of Behind the Scenes with ASPIRE, we learned about Sydney and Isabel's unique experiences on the marketing team here at ASPIRE and connected it to their own experiences as Asian American women. We also talked about how audience members can get involved with marketing, whether that be at ASPIRE or in their personal career and lives.

June 16th, 2021: Sophia & Katherine
In our first Behind the Scenes with ASPIRE event, we met two of our board members, Sophia Lai and Katherine Wang, and learned about their personal volunteer experience with ASPIRE as well as their upbringings as Asian Americans.
Sophia was first introduced to ASPIRE in 2014 and joined as the AAWIL Logistics Co-Director. She's been involved in many roles since, and is currently serving as the Chair on the Board of Directors. Her current goal for ASPIRE is to have it grow sustainably, and for her 9 to 5, she manages projects at a not-for-profit called Copyright Clearance Center.
Katherine joined ASPIRE in June 2020 and supports volunteer recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding efforts. She currently works in Boston but will be starting law school in the fall.
