What does it mean to be an YLP Scholar?

"Becoming an YLP Scholar is a great honor and a priceless opportunity to grow and to learn. It is a chance to obtain and practice real skills in the real world, which students rarely do in high school. It is truly a privilege to become a part of this great network and I am absolutely thrilled that I will get the chance to work with some of the talented women in ASPIRE."

What would you like to accomplish as a YLP Scholar?

"The high school world is immensely different from the real world. YLP will allow me to work authentically and practically. Also, as a YLP scholar I hope to improve my leadership skills, and in that process build lasting relationships while learning more about myself and what I would like to do for the rest of my life, or at least eliminate some options."

Winter 2007 Update

"In the past summer I worked as a ward fellow at the Boston Globe Editorial Page, right now I am an intern at Health Care for All through the mental health group Teens Leading the Way. Teens Leading the Way recently refiled our bill, the one which provide drop-in help for teens, with 39 co-sponsors." (Editor's Note: See one of Hui's inspiring editorials from the summer about the project. She was recently accepted as part of the Harvard College Class of 2011).
