career leadership

BACK TO PROGRAMS

Our two-hour Career Leadership Panels feature 3-5 dynamic female Asian American professionals discussing their career and life experiences, followed by Q&A and breakout sessions. They serve as forums to gain insight into various industries as well as general leadership skills necessary for a successful career. Past panelists have included many prominent community and business leaders.

This year's panels seek to equip college students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and life perspective to make informed decisions towards a rewarding career. They will consider concepts of self-reliance (independence), self-confidence (confidence) and self-knowledge (introspection) within frameworks that explore the contrasting forces shaping our career and life choices:

  • Traditional vs. Nontraditional
  • Big vs. Small
  • Practical vs. Visionary
  • Self vs. Community

These seemingly divergent concepts have come to define our perception of success and career fulfillment. The goal of the career panels isn’t to champion one side over another but to weigh the merits of both. To the question of what defines success, there is no absolute answer. Please direct questions about the program to Chairs Tammy Tang and Charlene Chen at careerleadership@girlsaspire.org.
